A note on welding and class-approved capability

Marine welding under AS/NZS 1554.1 requires class-society approval of the firm and ongoing welder qualification. We don't hold our own class approval — we don't need to. Strait Marine coordinates welding through a network of pre-vetted, currently-approved partners, and acts as the single point of accountability for the operator. The same model applies to fumigation (AFAS), helicopter operations (CASA AOC), and grain surveying (AGSA). We name the credential, name the partner, and keep the file together.
